First years with Boeing 737NG - 737-600
This was my first shot of the newly delivered SAS Boeing 737-683.
The first example was delivered to SAS in September, with the first
Aircraft put into service on the Paris route on October 25th. This
Photo was taken soon thereafter on November 7th 1998 at Arlanda,
and the Aircraft shown is LN-RPA "Arnljot Viking". This perticular
aircraft was first flown August 25th, and delivered to SAS October 10th,
1998. Thus the aircraft has been in service for less than one month at
the time.
Coming into final to land on runway 01 at Stockhol-Arlanda March 13th
1999, SE-DNN "Nanna Viking" is seconds from touch-down on a beautiful
Saturday morning. This example was delivered on October 21st, 1998.>
Same type, same day, two hours later, LN-RPB "Bure Viking" is just about to
land on runway 01 at Arlanda. Thanks to the snow-covered ground, the
reflections of the sun will light up the belly, making conditions very
favourable for aviation-photographers.
Standing leisurely at its gate July 17th, 1999, SAS Boeing 737-638 OY-KKB
"Bure Viking" is getting a new load of valuable customers. Five minutes
after this shot was taken, a giant Antonov AN-124 cargo plane took off
from the same airport passing close to the tower in the background,
probably with a much heavier load.
